about dr. khemchandani
Hello and welcome! I am a licensed clinical psychologist. I completed a doctorate in clinical child psychology though I have extensive training and experience in working with adults as well. I love providing psychotherapy and feel it is a true honour to support my clients as they journey towards healing. I aim to provide a nurturing and empathic therapy space and to build a trusting, therapeutic alliance with clients. My approach is one of non-judgment, respect and collaboration. I am continually humbled by the opportunity to help clients connect dots, deepen their self-awareness, tap into their inner wisdom and resilience and ultimately, live from a more fulfilled and peaceful place.

I strongly believe in tailoring therapy to meet the specific needs of my clients and as such, I utilise an eclectic and wholistic approach, drawing on varying theoretical orientations including for example, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioural, relational or somatic techniques, as needed. I consider myself an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community and to minority, vulnerable and/or disenfranchised persons. My philosophy in therapy is inspired by the Japanese art of kinsugi, whereby broken pottery pieces are put together using gold to ‘heal’ and join the cracks, creating a beautifully integrated and renewed whole.

In my free time, I can be found having laughing fits and being goofy with loved ones, doing yoga at sunset, immersing myself in a good book, doing photography or planning my next adventure. Ruhi means spirit, psyche or soul in my ancestral language (Sindhi).
Whether I have the privilege of working with you or not, I wish you wellbeing on your path towards becoming a more whole and well being.
